Carven Ong is a well-known fashion designer and couturier famed for his signature beautiful, glamorous and dazzling evening couture masterpieces in gorgeous colours, from breath-taking wedding gowns to chic evening gowns.
He first captured the attention of Malaysian fashion lovers in the early 90s, debuting his first collection in 1991 at the MODA Wanita Fashion Show. His dedication to the industry turned a personal passion into a lifelong career, leading to the establishment of the Carven Academy of Fashion, where he shared his expertise and nurtured a new generation of award-winning designers. Today, his couture pieces are renowned across Asia and worldwide.
Carven Ong made global headlines when his creations were featured in the 2018 Hollywood hit “Crazy Rich Asians.” His designs shone alongside international labels like Dior and Valentino, most notably the unforgettable wedding gown and the chic gold jumpsuit worn by the character Araminta Lee. This momentum continued into 2019 when his design took the Miss Universe stage, and he has since remained a key collaborator for various Miss Universe Malaysia editions, contributing to the pageant’s visual legacy.
Beyond the runway and film, Carven Ong is committed to giving back to society. He has frequently collaborated with Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur on high-profile fashion showcases that integrate philanthropy, such as the “Afternoon of Elegance and Prosperity” series which supports various charitable causes.
